Ken MacDonald is Chairman of the Board of Highlands Pacific Limited. Ken MacDonald has over 30 years experience in corporate law, with particular emphasis on the energy and natural resources sector as a partner with Allens Arthur Robinson and its predecessors. He retired as partner on 31 December 2007 but remains an active consultant to the firm. He has advised the Queensland Government in many significant transactions, from leading the Queensland Government legal team for the Suncorp Metway merger and subsequent privatisation, through to most recently, the sale of the Queensland retail energy business. He regularly advises on mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance issues, joint ventures, capital raisings and business regulation. In addition to his present Director role with Highlands Pacific, Mr MacDonald is the Deputy Chairman of Queensland Investment Corporation, a Director of QIC Private Capital Pty Ltd; QIC Retail Pty Ltd; Q-Invest Limited and a Director of RiverCity Motorway Group.
Mr MacDonald is a member of the Board’s Nominations Committee (Chair) and Remuneration Committee.

John Gooding is the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Highlands Pacific Limited. He is a Mining Engineer with over 30 years experience in Gold and Base Metals resources including mining, exploration, smelting, refinery operations, sales & marketing, major capital expansion projects, commercial and management. He has held executive management positions with Normandy Mining, MIM, Xstrata, Ok Tedi Mining and Roche Mining. John has extensive experience in gold and base metal mining (both open-cut and underground) through the management and operation of mines in Australia, and internationally. He holds a Mine Managers Certificate (Qld, NSW & NT) and is a Fellow of the Institute of Engineers & the Australasian Institute of Mining & Metallurgy. John is a former board member of the Queensland Resource Council and has held directorships in a number of companies within the resources industry.
Mr Gooding is a member of the Board’s Nominations Committee and PNG Issues Committee.

Ian Burvill has an extensive background in mining finance and engineering. He is a part-time consultant to Resource Capital Funds (RCF), a resource-focused private equity firm that is Highlands’ largest shareholder. Mr Burvill’s past executive positions include being a Partner with RCF, an Associate Director in the resource banking department of Rothschild Australia Limited, and design and project engineering positions with Minproc Engineers and Lycopodium. He is currently a Non-Executive Director of Highlands Pacific Limited and has previously served as a Non-Executive Director of five other listed and unlisted mining companies.
Mr Burvill is a member of the Board’s Remuneration Committee (Chair), Audit Committee, and Nominations Committee.

Mike Carroll was appointed a Director of Highlands Pacific Limited in April 2008. He is a Fellow of Certified Practising Accountants with over 30 years experience in a broad range of industries (in all states of Australia). These include mining, petroleum, building and construction, property and a number of service industries. Mike has held executive management positions with Brambles Industries Limited, James Hardie and Comalco and is currently Chief Executive Officer of Neumann Associate Companies. He has extensive experience in acquisitions (including integration), Government and semi-Government relationships, business development, profit growth and Corporate Governance. Mr Carroll is a member of the Australian Institute of Directors.

Rod Mitchell is the Chief Executive Officer of NASFUND of Papua New Guinea. NASFUND is the major private sector superannuation fund in PNG, managing the funds of over 85,000 active members and 155,000 inactive members. He is a Director of Credit Corporation Limited, a leading listed finance and property company in Papua New Guinea and a Director of DataNets, PNG’s leading Internet service provider. He is also interim CEO of the newly established PNG Business Coalition on HIV & AIDS. He has over 23 years experience in the financial investment industry in strategic, investment, operational and property analysis.

Previously, Ms Williame-Igara has managed a private enterprise, achieved First Assistant Secretary level in the PNG Department of Finance and Planning, and worked as a Regional Coordination Advisor for the South Pacific Forum Secretarial.

Lawrence Queen has been with Highlands for eleven years holding various senior positions within the exploration department. He has over 25 years experience in minerals exploration and project evaluation. During that time he has worked on mineral projects in Papua New Guinea, Alaska, Indonesia, Fiji, Australia and the southwest US.

Peter Jolly joined Highlands Pacific in June 2008. Prior to this he held senior management roles for American multi-national companies in Asia, including Director of the Advanced Power Electronics Research Center, Chief Engineer for the air conditioning product line for Emerson in China and the Research and Development Manager for Carrier Refrigeration - Asia Pacific Operations. During the 1980’s Peter was a Senior Research fellow at The University of Queensland. He started his career as a Mechanical Engineer for the Zinc Corporation in Broken Hill.
